Benny, the primary instigator of the story, leads a mafia-type group of bastards in New Vegas (post apocalyptic Las Vegas) that are very "hip 1950s" sorts that are always saying "ring-a-ding-ding." He shot you, the player, square in the head after giving a minor speech (which is where "the game was rigged from the start" is from). You somehow survive the shot to the head, and you walk your angry ass across the Mojave desert all the way to New Vegas because he stole a package you were delivering and you are gonna do your damned job no matter what. When you waltz into his casino and he sees you, a man whose brain he put a bullet through about a week ago, the first words out of his mouth are "What in the Goddamn...?"
