I'm thinking of a scene from this cartoon.

The female characters are talking, and they're trying to talk without the male characters tuning in to what they're saying. To accomplish this they mention "shoe shopping" and the male characters then sigh and say "shoe shopping" and stare ahead wistfully, not paying attention to the female characters
