There was Silver Banshee and Livewire who werent aliens, I think the one who makes people feel their fears was an alien but I dont remember because she was only in 2 episodes. There were others, citizens just choose to ignore them kinda like Marvel and mutants (well Marvel citizens do at least mention mutates exist but just dont attack them)

True. The problem is, they were inconsistent with him - sometimes he'd have legitimate journalistic wisdom for Kara, "tough love", and other times he'd be a nasty asshole just for the hell of it. The fact that they wrote him off after a season says it all. So I guess at some point, they'll have Alex make a bad call just so commander lady can be like "you should've listened to me!
