SFV AE (first rerelease but Season 3) was meant to be the big relaunch of the game. No graphical fixes, no bonus characters for the relaunch just a standard season, arcade mode with still pictures for endings, made the UI gold and added new vtriggers. They've slowly added a few more things like a customisable stage, but it took the best part of a year and looks pretty naff. They certainly didn't change the game up, just bolted on a few features. SFV sold 2.1 million by the time this launched.
Considering that how could anyone believe they'd spend quadruple the money, time and effort to fix a game that only sold 1 million? When this game also has much stronger direct competition in the form of DBFZ which sold more than both these games in a month.
