Yikes. Outside of this guy, this was the most poorly conceived, acted, and planned show I've seen in awhile. Most 1st episodes want you to dig into this world more, but Titans.. Fuck. This was worse than the Earth-2 books.

I just finished watching it about an hour ago..
It was better than I *thought* it was going to be but theres the starfire thing (she did look better in action than a still photo, but its still a hooker outfit) and they went super edgelord... All 3 featured characters in ep1 kill at least one person? really DC?
Other than that it was decently made and shot, the acting was serviceable, and starfires amnesia thing is somewhat kinda interesting.
Its not Titans, and its not good enough to stand alone as a gritty edgelord version of Titans.
I don't see myself watching another episode.

I had pretty much the opposite reaction to it although I must say that I didn't like Starfire's actress. She didn't convince me with the entire amnesia thing. The Robin actor and Raven surprised me though. Didn't expect to like their renditions of the characters that much

I also like the atmosphere and especially the soundtrack. Except for minor CGI stuff, it did feel more like a movie than a TV show. Looking forward to the other episodes and I really hope Starfire gets a proper costume sooner or later. The fights were also pretty great. Didn't expect them to be that good to be completely honest. It was pretty clear though that people on this board would hate it because everything DC related is always subject to contrarians and haters

Robin and Raven were surprisingly okay actors, and the former had moments of good choreography.

Everything else was garbage though. Especially Starfire, holy shit. It just feels like whoever made this is deeply embarrassed by the concept of the Teen Titans as a whole, and furthermore has no fucking clue how to write believable dialogue or pace stories.

I've noticed that people are really fucking defensive over this show, and decry every bad word against it as either shilling or 'hating', whatever the fuck that means in terms of media criticism. The fact is, this show was always going to be divisive. It hates its own source material and is exactly the opposite of what most DC fans actually want to see.

Her powers have varied in look throughout the years. Sometimes it's been yellow, sometimes it's been green. However, they are never just fire. It's cosmic radiation, basically. Similar stuff to Superman's heat vision, but generally out of her hands rather than her eyes.

What HAS often looked like fire is her hair. That's a consistent motif. And either way, this Starfire is fucking terrible with her ridiculous getup and toned down flamethrower powers. She also appears to be some manner of dimensional outsider with a connection to Raven, rather than space alien, which I guess is too far-fetched for whoever was in charge.

If you watch it without any pre-conceived notions about what/who the Titans are it was actually really fucking good. The acting was also really good, especially the girl playing Starfire.

Well, I liked it. As much as I liked Gotham until season 3 at least. It's not the greatest, but liked enough to look forward to next episodes.

Worst parts were Raven's, but that's because it's over the top teen drama and I'm not really much into that stuff. But I liked Kori's story enough, and I liked Dick's and Kori's actors quite a lot, actually.

And the music, and the slow pacing. Not so much of a fan of how they transitioned scenes though.

14 years ago I was 13 and I thought Identity Crisis was amazing, I thought I was a mature sophisticated adult for reading it.

I then promptly forgot all about it until it came out in hardcover 2014 or thereabouts. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. Wasn’t angry in the slightest, surprised but little else.

Wasn’t even aware of the criticism, went online after reading it again to see if anybody was as disappointed as I was...only to find tons of fans shredding it to pieces.

Whenever I see people praising it now I just assume they haven’t read it in over a decade or they just can’t admit they were a naive child. ...or just your bog-standard contrarian. Which are you kiddo?
