honestly it was kind of okay? like it was extremely predictable and did nothing interesting or new, but it was mildly entertaining and it was one of the better episodes of NuPPG, which isn’t saying much, but still. the main issue is that Bliss doesn’t really have a “thing” like the other girls do. Blossom is the perfectionist type who follows all the rules and does well in school, Bubbles is the sweet and sensitive one, and Buttercup is the brash and loud tomboy. Bliss doesn’t have any defined personality which makes it difficult to care about her. and the fact that she’s black is just really strange

From what I recall, Professor Utonium's college friend was making great headway in the science of creating superpowered little girls. So Utonium decided to rush his own research and create Bliss out of suger, spice, everything nice and chemical W. Chemical W is unstable, however, and causes her to explode when angry. She runs away, and Utonium then creates the Powerpuff Girls, and accidentally giving them superpowers with chemical X even though he was originally planning to give them superpowers anyway.

The whole "oh, you know, there already was someone who actually succeeded where Utonium failed before" bullshit was no doubt the worst thing about this trainwreck.

It absolutely broke the mythos of the series, AND implied that there were multiple other PPG-like creatures roaming free, and shit.

...but he only appears in episodes Jake wrote. And he voices him.

So at best that means the other staff members came up with a character design for Jake if he was in the PPG world, and he promptly ran with it and wrote and voiced him as Blossom's fantasy boyfriend. That's not much less fucked up than him creating the character from scratch.

Guys, Jake wrote EVERY episode of NuPPG back then. It was one of the biggest reasons the show sucks/ed - it only had two writers.

It turns out Bliss has five different voice actresses depending on the region. The first clip of her released was of the African version, so some people still associate that with her. The American version was voiced by Olivia Olson so Bliss sounds sort of like Marceline.
