When I was a kid, I always wanted an Ultimate Universe-style DC "reboot", with a harder adherence to canon and time progression.

The difference was, it started in the 1940s with Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Alan Scott, etc and moved forward. Characters would appear roughly in the time they debuted IRL and the story would build in itself, with characters being allowed to have endings.

Jay Garrick would give way to Barry Allen then to Wally West. Dick would be the Batman of the 70s and 80s and pass on the mantel to Terry in the early 2000s. The Teen Titans and other wards would take the place of the mortal and aging superheroes.

I would still kinda love an ongoing series like this.
