>>100485125>is there any reason to hate it besides being a Finn self-inserter and being mad you can't bang the candy girl or the vampire?Okay, what's wrong with that?
What's wrong with wanting to identify with the main character and the original tropes of the story? Why do I have to give space and leave room for you and these hollywood scumbag writers to 'reexamine' and 'challenge' the simple enjoyable tropes of a story of adventures and enjoyment, to stick a couple of lesbians in for the characters they used to be? Why do I have to be forced to accept this? How about you drop the gendered language of 'are you MAN enough to handle this' mess, that you would also never accept thrown back at you, and answer me? Why did the series need lesbians? Why did they have to take a love triangle dynamic in a cartoon aimed for boys, to go for a demographic unrelated to the product's core audience, and force this litmus test on accepting the narratives? Everything's a fucking test now.
'Are you SECURE enough in your sexuality to accept your love interests are lesbians and never felt anything for you?'
'Are you BRAVE enough to endure the unrequited sobbing child we've turned your hero into?'
'Are you COOL enough to deal with a show turning into lesbians and their adventures as you're regulated further and further into obscurity in your own show?'
No you couldn't just make your own show, you had to ape one that already existed and shove this shit in. What about this, I come into, I don't know, your shit and made all your favorite gay characters straight and repellent of female advances, but I left one standing around unfulfilled and learning to swallow her sadness. And then you got mad and I questioned your integrity as a person, and called you a fanatic bulldyke who needs to get laid. No, you'd be pissed that I came in and ruined your shit.
There's plenty of reasons to hate it, and even basic ones are valid. Don't fuck with other people's things.
