The best picture oscar this year is pretty weak.
I like Black Panther and Blackkklansman but they're not good to the point of being nominee. Don't know about A Star is Born. Green Book, controversy aside, is just a little feel good movie. Vice is either loved or reviled. Bohemian Rhapsody is shit.
Roma and The Favourite are the only one that seems worthy of an oscar.

Not him, but i get what he's saying. You wouldn't call Star Wars a superhero movie, but the characters use spaceships, strange technology and even some of then have superpowers. A lot of superheroes we see are usually compromised of a handful of extrodinary beings in settings we recognize. Smallville and gotham might not be real places, but they seem to function for the most part like cities or towns in our world. Black panther might have augmented powers but the setting plays just as big if not a bigger role in the story. It's more about the crazy world of wakanda than it is the impressive feats of t'challa

Neither deserves it, for capeshit and similar dumb blockbusters you need to strike a very special nerve like BP to make the cut. The sun will go superbomba and this will probably remain as the only SH flick nominated for best picture. And my sides, nerds crying over this probably haven't watched the other movies.
