>>105476670>Her ideology is that she is perfect and that therefore, everyone should think like her. To be faced to her own flaws shatter apart that ideology. But given that she's the undisputed queen of the gem homeworld, surely this ideology should extend to every facet of the society, and I guess I could stretch that to apply to a few other fucked up and shitty things the gems do, but it doesn't really explain or refute everything. Hell, it doesn't even refute one of the bigger issues of the gem society, the absolute monarchy or the fact that certain gems are automatically predisposed to being a certain way regardless of societal conditioning and will likely end up in certain roles regardless of whether or not they are explicitly told to or not. And hell, at the end of the day her word is the law of the land, even if she 'listens' to her people, and tries to change things accordingly, it's all based on her views of the problems and who convinces her, not necessarily what the people themselves want. You need just one smooth talking asshole to ruin things. Let's also not forget the fact that they still straight up destroy worlds to make more, less quality gems for, what purpose? Even if they admit they have flaws that doesn't mean they can't view themselves as better than others, especially non-gems. Hell, even in the pursuit of survival steveonnie killed alien creatures to live, understandable, but why shouldn't the gems also conquer worlds in the name of survival, even if primitive life exists there? Why are they so obsessed with making more of their society in the first place? Sure, I guess you could say, "we're amazing so let's spread ourselves" but that seems silly given that the diamonds explicitly said it's too much to handle and that they're producing lower quality gems. Surely if it was just about superiority they would try and do things as perfectly as possibly and not in a such a haphazard way.
