>>3117010>Sending Yukika first would have annoyed zaShunina, but it wouldn't be such a shock without all the events preceding it.Really? Her existence is already surprising enough, there was no need to make her "kill" zaShunina, much less die in front of them. She could've been the key factor in the negotiation - that is - if Shindo truly wanted to negotiate in the first place.
>>3117088>>3117014Shindo was just a poorly written "hero".
If he just wanted to surprise zaShunina, why not send Yukika first? Even if zaShunina didn't care, Yukika has the power to neutralize him, anyway. There was nothing to lose sending her first.
Or are we to assume he chose to die at that moment because he wanted to ascend, but didn't want the rest of mankind to perish doing the same? Because he could have just said he would go, as long as zaShunina left the rest of the world alone. zaShunina was pretty desperate at the end, he basically just wanted Shindo and nobody else.
Instead, he preferred to drag three people into this mess (the "someone he cares about", his best friend and his own daughter), wasting 16 years of their lives.
And you can't even play him off as some sort of obsessed Twenty Faces wanting to give zaShunina "sum thrills" at all costs, because he said he loves Saraka above all else (he just forgot to SHOW it).
Bah.
