Cope with what?
I like Nino, but her getting a chapter like this doesn't really bode well for her status in the race.
Nino and Fuutarou aren't real people, they're figments of fiction and of imagination. Them simply spending time together doesn't really mean their relationship is "progressing" - this is a harem manga, after all. These puppets will do as Negi tells them to, and in a way that advances the story most effectively. It's difficult to imagine Nino winning because the way her conflicts are set up no longer addresses an intrinsic, internal struggle like they used to, but a superficial one. Her desires no longer waver, her methods do. That's the key thing here. That means her role is effectively over.
Compare this to the previous Itsuki chapter. Even though the dynamic is similar - both quints spend time with Fuutarou - Itsuki is confronted with a dillema that affects her motivation - the core of her character. This gives her room for growth - character development isn't just a character "changing," it's the change in motivation. Nino may change, but as this chapter shows, her motivations don't. Her growth is over.
If we assume that 5toubun will end like a romance, the main heroine needs to face some uncertainty and create some conflict for the final act. I don't see that coming from Nino, or Miku, at this point. >>190315179
No one said that Nino won't have any more chapters, but this chapter shouldn't be anything to celebrate for Nino fans. I like Nino, I wanted her to win, but 93 seems to show that she won't, because the dynamic she has no involves no internal conflict, only superficial and petty things. Like pretending to be tsundere.
