Just to clarify so I don't seem like a crazy person
If he had e-mailed me with "The price is going up by $30 because it cost more to ship it safely than I thought it would" would've been fine, no problem. If, when we started he sent me some test shots and said "The paint I normally use isn't going to cut it so I have to switch over to this more expensive paint" we could've talked it out then; But to have a person just hold my stuff hostage while giving weak excuses when the real answer is: I'm charging you more because I think I can get away with it. Truly bothers me. >>183325824
The general rule of thumb is that a brighter room is more welcoming and inviting. You can do both, have a room that is set for a decent amount of light through lamps or ceiling fans but when you dim it have your shelves illuminated.
I wouldn't recommend things getting too dark because while it doesn't cause depression, it makes it easier to be depressed in a room like that.
My current home office is a good balance of the two, dark 2-shelf bookcase, dark frame glass display case, black and red sun blocking curtains and a dark desk against white walls and bright lights. The case is illuminated so if I turn all the lights off it has a nice glow to it. But the main thing is that I have enough space that it never feels crowded or depressing in there. >>183326341
Yes. There are figure customizers and people who will build statues from hand or 3D Sculpts. I think Deviantart has a good community for them although their prices are a bit too high for the quality you get. They can be more flighty than the people who paint so be careful with that
