This show has great production values, and direction in it's first episode, but fuck did they lay it on thick.
I don't remember the manga being this blatant at the start.
Like it was actually somewhat cringe inducing>WOAH LOOK HOW HAPPY WE ALL ARE
Like the writers where trying really really hard to the point that it feels forced, and so the audience just knows it's a facade.
Also all that *BRAAAAAP*, when showing their neck tattoos, like fuck be a little subtile at least.
They should've been more natural, right up to the testing scene, then be as blatant as you want, but the way the intro'd the episode and what not kills any sense of surprise the manga had.
I think this will still be solid for the first arc though, i lost interest right when they escaped, and started meeting "good demons"(really? this cliche again?), and other adults.
solid 6/10 in coming.
