We still don't know whether or not anyone's surpassed Beerus in power. He's the standard we're using to compare new villains.
The problem is that Beerus never fought anyone else after Goku so we have literally NOTHING to go off of. We know Golden Freeza < Beerus at least in RoF, but we have no idea if Kaioken Blue x 10 is on par with Beerus. Nor do we know if Vegetto Blue is on par with or surpassed him. You'd think Jiren left Beerus in the dust and Broly may or may not be stronger than Jiren (we won't know for absolute certain until December 14th) but it's being implied that Beerus may as of yet still be above them.
I'd love to see /a/'s reaction if Ultra Instinct Goku or Full Power/Limit Breaker Jiren tried to fight Beerus and Beerus literally stops them with a finger and says "Impressive, you're getting somewhat close to my level" before laying them out on the curb. I have a goddamn feeling that's exactly what Toriyama's setting up.
Because originally Godku forced Beerus to fight with 70% of his power, but Toriyama said that if Goku was a 6 then Beerus was a 10.
This was retconned so that Godku was able to get Beerus to barely use a full percent of his power. And the further we go into Super, the more I'm thinking that Toriyama wants to retcon it so that Godku was a millionth as strong as Beerus and, after the ToP and Broly movie, has clawed his way and earned vast enough strength to become a thousandth as strong as Beerus.
Because RAFF$$$$. The longer they can keep the gravy train rolling, the more they can get some raff$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
It's one reason why I think Super is only on a hiatus. The ONLY possible way Super can end, barring nuclear war or total economic collapse leading to Toei closing its doors, is with a Goku vs Beerus rematch. That's how it started, that's how it'll end.
I would have said otherwise if we got a single new fight between Goku and Beerus in the show or manga, but we never did.
