The accent or transliteration thing is not an excuse, desu.
What's even the point of transliterating things so bad in the first place? In other languages that happens too, and they do it in a way that sound similar. For example, in Russian you could transliterate the word "Orcbolg" to "???????". Yes, the accent and pronunciation of some letters is going to make it sound different, but in essence is the same. In japanese however, it's not only making it sound like "Orkborg", considering they don't have the "L". Instead, they change it all the way to say "OrukuBorugu" for no reason whatsoever.
This doesn't even happen when an english speaker tries japanese. The transliteration of the japanese word for little sister would be "Imouto", the closest being "imoto", and of course it's going to sound different because of the "Ts" and "Os", but that doesn't mean it should be changed to "Inmoutours" or something like that.
