>>178855791>because the first 2 were just so boring
I hear this a lot and it always confused the fuck out of me. The first two episodes may have been straightforward, but they pretty clearly teased serious shit going down in the very first episode right at the beginning, so how could anyone claim to think it's just a cutesy kid's show?
If you couldn't tell from the VERY FIRST SCENE, with Madoka in this fucking crazy-ass checkerboard labyrinth in a burning city, where nearly everything is black and white, that this series was going to pick up and get really serious, you weren't paying attention at all.
It's not even like it's a short teaser bump that's easily forgotten about. It lasts the first 10% of the first episode and madoka spends much of the first episode talking about this "dream" she had that clearly wasn't a dream.
I really don't get why people needed three episodes to get into madoka when the first episode tells you everything you need to know if you're paying attention.
