Not him, but did you even look at the catalog before you posted this? /a/ is undertaken by the shonenchads and I would be lying if I said that I don't miss the competitive atmosphere, back when the old big three dominated this place.
I always got the sense that everyone kept each other in check with having too big an ego; people on the other side were going to tell you the flaws in your series. Everyone wanted to tell you why their favorite should be on top. The equality in popularity humbled everyone.
Now things seem more insulated. MHA is the biggest new shonen by sales and gets all the attention in the west. OP is bigger but the fanbase has gotten older by now. Therefore MHA and OP are both unchecked in terms of criticism.
The only people keeping criticism alive on /a/ at least are hunterchads, so remember to thank them. Hopefully, their influence will become pervasive over the whole internet.
