Oh shit, just realized that I missed out on talking about Hidomi’s character in my massive post. So far, she’s worse than Naota by far, but a part of me thinks her being a listless girl who wear Neko~neko kawaii headphones is sort of the point. Sure, she sounds like a stereotypically written teenager, but that may just be the point. The reason so many anons in this thread want to fuck her is because she’s a cute Sadamoto-designed girl, which is understandable.
Another part that flew over my head in my massive post was how Haruko brainwashing the kids with crayon drawings was cool. At first I thought we timeskipped forward and were getting a massive infodump, but the fact that all the events were just crayon drawings they were brainwashed into believing was pretty cool.>>174113390
I’m a massive Firestarter fan. I love Mamimi’s story (and Mamimi) and how it’s portrayed throughout the course of the episode. Canti floating into the air is one of my favorite moments from FLCL, such a beautiful part that it sticks out even among a show full of beautiful moments.>>174102765
Pretty much this. As someone who isn’t even a Triggerfag and just loves Kill La Kill more Han most shows (definitely more than the other shows in Trigger’s catalogue) it feels like a full team of JUST Trigger employees (none of this A-1 shit) could’ve made a show more in line and in spirit with the nature and soul of the original. Instead, we have this, which feels a bit lifeless at moments, ESPECIALLY in its dull animation and lackluster direction.
Even after these two massive points of me basically saying I feel ‘meh’ about the series, I’m glad the sequels are coming out. Even if they won’t be able to touch the original, at least they will bring FLCL to the minds of a whole new generation and hopefully get them to watch the original. It feels fun to talk about FLCL again.
