>>171904159>Emotional =/= Being a pussy
Being an emotional and being a pussy may as well be the same thing according to your logic. Black Reaper would have been a pussy IF he didn't fight Arima, he still went through with it, stood his ground, and won regardless. This point is invalidated. >We've had set up of a hedonistic and ruthless Kaneki, it was expected he'd be different.
And I bet you were one of the people who thought Kaneki would become Femtoneki just because he looked sinister in a handful of illustrations right? Delusional. Kaneki in general is just a passive individual, he doesn't go around being ruthless. Even Don had a level of chill. >We were seeing a fragile person hardened. You do realise we had flashbacks where Kaneki launched at Arima without a second thought?
And he did harden for a period of time before reverting back to his passive aggressive nature. There's a pattern here. Kuroneki passive, Shironeki aggressive, Haise relatively passive, Black Reaper aggressive, OEK passive, and I guess Nameless King will head back into aggressive or a balance of both. >Him saving Touka was cool, Kaneki established himself as a dominant and masculine persona, we never saw him do something like that before. When I said "muh touka cancer", I was referring to the moment when Touka left Kaneki facing off Arima. That was the birth of post-rose neo-Touka relationship with Kaneki. This submissive and melodramatic attitude, this absolute sudden foundation for a breakneck pacing of a relationship ahead.
Him saving Touka wasn't even necessary. Ayato wouldn't have even killed her. My point being was, Touka softens every persona of Kaneki regardless. She knocked Shironeki out of his tragic hero mindset during the bridge scene and made him consider coming back until the Anteiku Raid happened, she made Haise shed tears, and she busted Reaper's edgy facade. Not even going to discuss Touken because that's a rushed mess.
