I usually like mischievous characters that are more about looking bad than actually being bad. That's why I like Haruno (although not as much as Yuki or Sensei). And for a long time I hated Iroha, but didn't know why (also, I agree with most people here hating her, but no-one is imo giving any arguments to why she's hate-worthy. So far anti-Iroha people have better arguments).
So when I rewatched the series I tried to be as objective and try to look at her with fresh eyes. I concluded that while she's mostly alright, she still died in my eyes when she first came to the Service Club. She basically just wanted the SC to make her get her her desired outcome (not being prez) without any consequences (looking bad in other people's eyes).
That's pretty shitty to boot, but even more so when you compare it to the way Yuki handles things in S2 when she helps out 8man with the student council.
Some people in this thread mention that Iroha is picking up on these things and improving. But she still semi-scolds Yuki and 8man when they confront the student council for their shit. Maybe she develops beyond that in the future, but why wouldn't 8man pick Yuki now, when Yuki's at that stage *now*?
I'd probably agree with you about her being interesting, but I think what she does is too, I don't want to exactly say destructive or something like that, but I think being with her would be a bother, and not in a good way, the way I imagine it would be with Yuki. It would still be a bother with her, but at least they'd be working towards the same goals, while with Iroha there'd be a discrepancy goal-wise. What you're saying makes sense to me about Haruno, because I really think she does mean well, have same-ish goals (wants people to improve, mostly her little sister). but I'm still a little against her being with 8man. It looks like she doesn't want/is capable of being genuine i.e open and honest with someone, she seems like she gave up on it for herself. charlimitreached
