Dunno if it's what that anon meant, but the show did seem to be fighting against its own premise of exter-liberator pairs where the exters become weapons.
Instead, the main cast and eventually the antagonists were a bunch of special exceptions: Mirei and Momoka can become weapons on their own, Virgin-chan isn't limited to pairing with Mirei, Mei Fong can make her own liberator, Lady-Lady can swap either way, Charlotte's exters are no-name background characters, and Kasumi just kicks people. It felt like they couldn't figure out how to make the idea of half the characters becoming non-speaking weapons in every fight be entertaining so just gave up on it.
And their making-out-to-transform was treated in the same manner as every other transforming-hero story instead of as something unique: they show the full thing when there's time but just abbreviate it to instant when there's not. There's no actual tactical issue of needing time to sex it up before fighting, which could have been interesting.
Also the last episode was generic as fuck and could have been some other show.
