I've honestly never seen a character get so completely, utterly, literally BTFO. Hisoka suffered the most crushingly humiliating defeat I can think of. Not just in the sense that he was thoroughly outclassed, rused, battered and that all his hype was for naught, but that his whole outlook on the one thing he enjoys the most and probably prides himself on, his battle sensibilities and sleight of hand, proved useless and his fighting strategy changed for good after the ordeal. The famous asspull needed just to survive was bad enough, but to have his supposedly nuanced character take a shift and regress into his zealous, butthurt quest for vengeance is something quite remarkable. Hisoka truly is just a shell of his former self, and it's all because of Chrollo.
