I price check eBay for figs that I am looking for every time unless they are pre-orders. It's dumb not to. I have found stuff (especially things ~2 years old) for quite a bit cheaper than AmiAmi etc.. Just make sure it's coming from Japan, know what to look for as far as bootleg detection (I care but you don't necessarily need to care). I mean, I buy all sorts of things on eBay and Amazon already, figures are no different. If you don't spend the literally 5 minutes it takes to at least check around, you're a sucker. It's obviously only going to pay off occasionally, but at the least you will find either obvious gougers, Chinamen, and used stuff with sellers who will answer questions. eBay protects you, financially it's objectively better at least in Burgerland and less of a hassle. AmiAmi and such are my go-to's but kif I can find the same thing on Amazon with no shipping, buyer protection and comparable price, it's reassuring to know it will be here and often faster.
On the other hand, how does this affect starving burger-flipping animators? If at all? I assume not at all.
