Here rests the entire crux of our ignorance about the whole deal of Kongo's function.
We know that he's broken, and both he and the moonies know that he is. We know that he dreams of praying but he seems uncapable to.
Yet, Aechmea's explanation claimed both that he was made to be capable of splitting a human into three and to purify the souls. Those might be the same function or not, or he might be contradicting himself, or he might at least partially be lying.
The interpretation we give to Kongo's function might shed some light unto his actual intentions -as in, what he would do if he wasn't "broken". But they also create two different scenarios as to the Lunarians' plan -if the Human Recreation project is meant to create a single human in order to activate Sensei to pray them away (or whatever else), or it ultimately skips the middleman Sensei and recreating humanity was always the end goal.>>181986399
