I think that's going a bit far, painting Nanashi as being insincere or disingenuous. In the grand scheme of things even OG Nagatoro is a more palatable and tame concept coming from a former guro artist specializing in creative breast mutilation.
Tastes change and often mellow out over time. It's been the better part of a decade since the OG image sets and it'd be unreasonable to expect an author to keep the character concept entirely static.
I know I used to be into a lot more wicked stuff than I am now, can't begrudge Nanashi for going through the same.
But I'll agree that Nagatoro is very much with the times, she's part of the same zeitgeist that spawned Takagi-san or the girl with the Sugoii Dekais. Can't complain though, I like this sort of romcom.
